Get the words right
The Graphical design of your Brochures and Advertising is only a part of ensuring their
effectiveness. Getting the words right can be far more important.
You have five seconds!
Make it stand out. Make sure that whatever you do, it will grab the
attention of your target audience. If not, an advert will be lost or a brochure
"filed" in the bin.
Make it interesting - to your customer
Having persuaded the prospect to stop and look, you have to make him read it.
He needs to WANT your product
He needs to think it will solve his problem or he won't take it any further.
He needs to believe in YOU
If you are not already an industry giant or household name - add some proof. Anything
you can do to increase his confidence and respect will make it easier.
"Techies" versus "Arties"
All too often the words are produced by the "techies" and are
squashed into a layout produced by the "arties".
Engineering want to fill every square cm with Features and Specification, while the
artists will want lots of "white space" to make it look "balanced".
Put in what your customer wants to see!
The most important thing to remember, whatever else you do, is to put in what your
customer wants to see -------- NOT what you want him to see!
Look at it from the point of view of selling holes in walls as against electric
drills.
