Starting life as contract electronics design engineers, Number One Systems developed considerable expertise in laser interferometry electronics and machine vision inspection systems, working with Linear Instruments and British Aerospace. Other customers included The National Physical Laboratory, ITT, Coopers Payen (T&N), Philips, and Black Star. Number One Systems grew to be a major player in the Electronic CAD business with the launch of Easy-PC in 1988. Number One Systems won a British Design Award for the development of Easy-PC in 1989. During the nineties the company averaged £0.5M turnover per year with 12,000 customers in over 100 countries. Responsibilities included Marketing, Dealer Management, Advertising, Sales Forecasting, Management Accounting, Financial Planning, Guiding Technical Development, Product Specification, Product Evaluation and Testing, Planning Exhibitions, Press Relations, Competition Analysis and Computer Network planning and implementation. 1978 to 1982 founder/partner A.M.Espin trading as Number One Marine Manufacturers of marine self-steering equipment and accessories and contract electronics design engineers. 1972-1978 Sinclair Radionics Ltd. St. Ives, Cambs. Manager of the Miniature Television design group. Responsible for a team of engineers and technicians taking the Micro-Vision from concept to final product; including contract negotiations with major suppliers and the design of three custom integrated circuits: - Video IF amp / detector, Audio IF / detector and Line and frame oscillators. 1964-1972 Texas Instruments - Bedford and Dallas. Initially worked in the glass to metal seals department as a Production Engineer. Then transferred to the Quality Assurance department and managed the Standards Laboratory, the Special Test dept. and the Calibration departments. Then transferred to the Integrated Circuits Department and was responsible for the design and layout of many Integrated circuits, mainly in the consumer electronics field, i.e. television, audio, radio, etc. SkillsElectronics Design mainly analogue, including audio, video, television, RF,
