Probably more important, do you know the cost of getting a new customer? Is it increasing or decreasing? Having received the enquiries do you get your money's worth of sales from them? Are the ratios improving or getting worse? If you monitor performance for each advertising outlet, you have the ideal means to negotiate better rates from the poorer performers or you have indications where it may be worth increasing the size of your adverts. Is the value for money that you get for advertising and promotion, improving or getting worse? If you were to increase your promotion spend by 20% would you get a corresponding increase in sales? By monitoring your business parameters you will have the information you need to be able to CONTROL them. Do your existing customers keep buying from you? Or have they gone to your competitors?Most companies recognise that their customers are their greatest asset - without them there would be no business. By contacting your old customers more often you would probably get a lot more business!
